VUIT: Don’t forget to check your spam filter
Jun. 7, 2019—VUIT’s spam filter, VUmailguard, protects against unwanted emails by using the spam protection in Microsoft Office 365. A notification email is sent if there is a quarantined message requiring review. Users can either release the message from quarantine or ignore it.
Microsoft Office 365 sign-in enhancements coming in June
May. 23, 2019—Over the next several months, VUIT will migrate all Outlook/Exchange mailboxes of VU faculty, staff and most graduate students from on-campus servers to Microsoft Outlook Office 365 in the cloud. To prepare for the Outlook/Exchange mailbox migration to Office 365, VUIT will be updating the way users sign in to Office 365 applications.
VUIT: Password reset for faculty, staff, students
May. 14, 2019—As the academic year ends, VUIT is reminding faculty, staff and students to change their ePassword, the password associated with VUnetID.
Data network services temporarily unavailable May 21
Apr. 16, 2019—On May 21, between 10 and 11 p.m., Vanderbilt University Information Technology and VUMC Information Technology will split the data network causing services including internet and wi-fi to be temporarily unavailable.

Multi-factor authentication now required to access VU’s virtual private network
Mar. 18, 2019—Vanderbilt University Information Technology continues to increase the protection of VU systems through enhanced cybersecurity mechanisms. As the next step in its VerifyU initiative, multi-factor authentication will be required to access the VU virtual private network application, Pulse Secure, beginning March 18.
In-person assistance available for multifactor authentication launch

Feb. 28, 2019—Vanderbilt IT has released its annual Faculty and Staff Satisfaction Survey, which is confidential and should take about five minutes to complete. The results will be used to further enhance IT service and support.
Voice services ordering to be streamlined through SerVU system
Feb. 20, 2019—The SerVU system includes new order forms and an automated approval process that will streamline and speed the voice services ordering process for the university.
Virtual Private Network to begin using multi-factor authentication March 18
Feb. 15, 2019—Effective March 18, multi-factor authentication will be required for Vanderbilt's virtual private network application, Pulse Secure.
VU, VUMC phone service temporarily unavailable Feb. 3
Jan. 22, 2019—Vanderbilt IT will upgrade the telephone system on Sunday, Feb. 3, at 4 a.m. The upgrade will take approximately one hour to complete. During this time, the telephone system will be unavailable.
