In-person assistance available for multifactor authentication launch

Effective March 18, multifactor authentication will be required for Vanderbilt’s virtual private network application, Pulse Secure.

Multifactor authentication—a method by which a computer user is granted access only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence (or factors) to an authentication mechanism—is part of VUIT’s VerifyU initiative, which is designed to protect against credential theft and provide enhanced cybersecurity protection to the Vanderbilt community.

The university’s recently purchased multifactor authentication solution, Duo Security, will be applied to Pulse Secure as the first campus-wide application.

To support users with this transition, TechHub will provide assistance with enrollment in Duo, Vanderbilt’s MFA solution:

  • Monday, March 18
    • Tech Hub Hill Center, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 20
    •    Featheringill Hall, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Detailed enrollment and VPN log-in instructions are available here.
