May. 7, 2021—The Vanderbilt University Board of Trust elected seven new members with a wide range of leadership expertise and breadth of experience at its April 30 meeting.
May. 7, 2021—A resolution adopted by the Vanderbilt Board of Trust in appreciation of faculty and resolutions adopted by the Faculty Senate honoring Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente as well as university staff were presented at the senate’s monthly meeting on May 6.

Apr. 26, 2021—Vanderbilt University’s newest residential college will be named Rothschild College in recognition of the transformational $20 million gift that Marieke and Jeff Rothschild, BA’77, MS’79, made in 2016 to accelerate the development of the residential college system. The Rothschilds’ generous contribution has helped advance a key pillar of Vanderbilt’s academic strategic plan—enhancing the undergraduate residential experience.
Apr. 2, 2021—Centennial Professor of Philosophy John Lachs will retire and receive emeritus status on Aug. 15, after more than 50 years of teaching at Vanderbilt University. Lachs’ thought-provoking lectures have been perennial favorites among not only students, but also many alumni, who eagerly have signed up for his numerous appearances at Reunion and Vanderbilt chapter events.

Diermeier shares message of optimism, announces upcoming virtual gatherings with Vanderbilt community
May. 29, 2020—Incoming Chancellor Daniel Diermeier shared a message this week with the Vanderbilt community and announced a series of virtual gatherings throughout the month of June for students and their families, staff, faculty and alumni.
May. 22, 2020—Vanderbilt University has received an $8 million commitment to create the Nicholas S. Zeppos Scholarship, honoring the institution’s eighth chancellor. The Sarah and Ross Perot Jr. Foundation made the gift to recognize Zeppos’ extraordinary tenure as Vanderbilt chancellor from 2008 through 2019.
