Construction hours to change this weekend for West End Tower crane extension

Nov. 7, 2019—To complete the rest of the structural work for the planned 20-story West End Tower, the crane needs an extension. Construction hours will change this weekend, with work beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday. If the work is not completed on Saturday, work on the crane will begin again at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

Oct. 31, 2019—The Vanderbilt Facilities department will host a town hall discussing the West End Neighborhood project on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Carmichael Towers East Lounge.

Make note of road closure in West End Neighborhood

Oct. 22, 2019—Beginning Oct. 21, Vanderbilt Place will be closed east of 24th Avenue. Pedestrian traffic should use the north sidewalk on Vanderbilt Place between 24th Avenue and West Side Row until further notice.

Jun. 17, 2019—More than 800 Nashville firefighters from across Davidson County will participate in a unique training opportunity on the Vanderbilt campus June 18-29, when they conduct high-rise fire response drills in the university’s Carmichael West Tower 4 residence hall, slated for demolition later this summer.
