Mar. 18, 2019—Peabody College senior Meredith Waites has been named the 2019-20 recipient of the Michael B. Keegan Traveling Fellowship, which aims to enhance the development of future leaders through world travel and experiential learning.
Feb. 22, 2019—A coding hobby led Vanderbilt HOD and economics double major Ben Scheer on a wild immersion, building an app for orangutans at Zoo Atlanta.
Nov. 2, 2018—The Department of Special Education at Vanderbilt’s Peabody College of education and human development has received five grants totaling $6.6 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs.
May. 8, 2018—Veteran nonprofit strategist and social venture entrepreneur Laura Ponte Chauvin will be honored with the 2018 Peabody College Distinguished Alumna Award during Commencement.
May. 3, 2018—At age 12, Logan Brown decided she wanted to become a lawyer. So the pre-teen pursued and landed an internship at the Douglas County district attorney’s office in Lawrence, Kansas, giving her a front-row seat to the legal system at work.
Apr. 26, 2018—Alexandra Doten’s passion for blending science, education and outreach was born from a failure. Doten took an astronomy class her first semester freshman year and failed the first test. But with encouragement from a professor, she turned the experience into a lesson in perseverance.
Apr. 25, 2018—Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos helped undergraduates distribute donation checks totaling $59,000 to four Nashville charities as part of a unique class that teaches undergraduates the importance and value of philanthropy.

Apr. 4, 2018—Vanderbilt University has awarded its 2018 Michael B. Keegan Traveling Fellowship to Peabody College senior Danielle Kitchen and School of Engineering senior Jerom Theunissen. The fellowship aims to develop leaders through world travel and experiential learning.
Mar. 16, 2018—More than 100 students, faculty, staff and community members attended the March 13 transit forum presented by Vanderbilt at the Student Life Center. The final forum is set for April 10.
