The Vanderbilt Occupational Health Clinic will offer COVID-19 vaccines to Vanderbilt faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars on a walk-in basis beginning Wednesday, July 7. Faculty, staff and postdocs will no longer need to schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine.

Changes to COVID-19 testing center operations start July 12
 
Vanderbilt is shifting the university’s COVID-19 testing center operations starting Monday, July 12. Before the shift, the testing center will remain open through Thursday, July 8, as normal. Reconfiguration will take place before the center opens again on July 12.

Alumnus honored for courageous vote for women’s rights
 
A historical marker celebrating Banks Turner, BA’1910, has been installed at the entrance to Yorkville Cemetery in Gibson County, Tennessee. Turner was a freshman state representative in 1920 when he cast three decisive votes to prevent the state legislature from tabling the 19th Amendment, which would have effectively killed the national law that gave many American women the right to vote.

Staff and postdocs who submit vaccination record by July 19 eligible for $1,000 prize drawing
 
COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for all members of the Vanderbilt community for the 2021–22 academic year. To thank those who submit their vaccination records early, the Division of Administration will conduct a drawing for 25 Vanderbilt University-employed staff and postdocs who submit their records to the university’s vaccine portal by 8 a.m. on July 19.
