For the Vanderbilt community: University moves to alternative education for remainder of semester
Mar. 11, 2020—On March 11, the university received notice from Vanderbilt University Medical Center that a VUMC health care worker has tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution and based on public health recommendations and best practices, the university will move fully to online and alternative learning for the remainder of the semester, and all undergraduate residential students should make plans to move out by Sunday, March 15.

Mar. 9, 2020—Based on a desire to protect the health and safety of the Vanderbilt community from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Interim Chancellor and Provost Susan R. Wente is cancelling all university classes for the remainder of the week of March 9. In addition, beginning Monday, March 16, and through at least March 30, the university is suspending all in-person classes and is moving to online and other alternative learning options.
