What started out as a service project for the Association of Vanderbilt Black Faculty and Staff affinity group quickly turned into a strong community partnership between members of the Vanderbilt community and Ida B. Wells Elementary School in East Nashville. Throughout the 2022–23 school year, faculty, staff and students put in more than 400 service hours with the school.  Read More

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of Education and State, with the goal of celebrating international education. IEW at Vanderbilt has traditionally included a diverse range of events, from international game nights to panel discussions on global issues. Proposals are being accepted through Oct. 13 and should be related to international education, cultural exchange and/or living in a global environment. Read More

'Florence Price: A Celebration,' a multi-event music festival, will pay tribute to the life, music and enduring legacy of a woman who broke barriers of race and gender in classical music. The National Science Foundation has granted $100,000 to Vanderbilt, Fisk and Tennessee State University to launch the Middle Tennessee Research Administration and Innovation Network, which focuses on developing regional research administration staff through a series of workshops to address disparities in regional research activity. Vanderbilt University and the Frist Center for Autism and Innovation at Vanderbilt are collaborating with The Precisionists, Inc., a Wilmington, Delaware-based company that assesses, trains and employs neurodiverse adults to carry out project-based consulting work. TPI anticipates steady growth in Nashville and plans to create more than 500 local jobs for adults with autism and neurodiversities within the next three to five years.  Read More
