May. 9, 2014—In 1964, soon-to-be Vanderbilt graduate Katherine Gorham missed Commencement because she was in the hospital, recovering from having her first child. On Friday, she walked across the platform in cap and gown after her husband and the university arranged for her to participate in Commencement with the Class of 2014.
