Apr. 9, 2019—Vanderbilt has a longstanding commitment to community service, including strong student traditions such as Alternative Spring Break and supporting areas of need in the Nashville area. In March 2019, the Vanderbilt Alumni Association celebrated that passion with a new monthlong series, Commodores in the Community, to extend the collective impact of the global Vanderbilt alumni network.

Mar. 7, 2019—Volunteer Leadership Weekend brought more than 200 alumni and parent volunteer leaders together to celebrate their engagement with the university and to create strategies to support Vanderbilt’s goals for the future.
Dec. 19, 2018—Two Vanderbilt alumni are among the young innovators who are “shaking up the world’s stodgiest industries” in the 2019 Forbes “30 Under 30.”
Jun. 28, 2018—The Vanderbilt Alumni Association Board announces new leadership and the addition of eight new board members.
May. 1, 2018—Rosevelt Noble, BS'97, PhD'03, assistant dean of students and director of the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center, is the recipient of the 2018 Vanderbilt Alumni Education Award.
Mar. 15, 2018—President Donald Trump has nominated Jon Parrish Peede, BS’91, to serve as the 11th chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Mar. 14, 2018—Volunteers play an important role in Vanderbilt’s success, and that involvement was praised during the university’s inaugural Volunteer Leadership Weekend held Feb. 23–24.
