Dec. 10, 2018—Barbara Carroll, Vanderbilt’s chief human resources officer, has received the Donald E. Dickason Award from the national College and University Professional Association for Human Resources and has directed its prize money to the Vanderbilt University Employee Hardship Fund.
Dec. 18, 2017—Erik Smetana has been named executive director for compensation and talent for Vanderbilt University Human Resources. Smetana, most recently associate vice president and deputy chief HR officer for the University of Missouri system, will join Vanderbilt Human Resources on Jan. 3.
Oct. 27, 2016—More than 350 faculty and staff participated in a town hall meeting Oct. 25 to learn more about SkyVU, the new cloud-based Oracle solution that will provide support for many of the university’s financial, administrative and research support systems effective July 1, 2017.
Jun. 30, 2016—Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos today announced that the university will raise its starting wage to $12.50 an hour and will increase its PTO plan for qualified employees, including adding the day after Thanksgiving and more than a weeklong winter break as holidays.
