Jan. 20, 2021—Faculty and students found themselves teaching and learning in new contexts last fall, from online courses to hybrid classrooms. In October and November, the Center for Teaching in the Office of the Provost conducted a series of focus groups with students to better understand their experiences learning in these environments.
Jan. 6, 2021—As the Vanderbilt community prepares for another semester of adaptive teaching, the Center for Teaching continues to create resources to help faculty and instructors teach effectively in a variety of contexts.
Dec. 16, 2020—VUIT will offer training for faculty Jan. 7–20 on using audio-visual technology in the classroom. Both remote and in-person group sessions will be offered based on room and physical-distancing capacity. One-on-one training sessions also will be available on an as-needed basis.

Faculty prepare for fall semester through participation in Center for Teaching’s Online Course Design Institute
Aug. 10, 2020—This summer more than 400 faculty and other instructors completed the Online Course Design Institute offered by the Center for Teaching, learning about effective practices in online education and jump-starting their planning for summer and fall online courses.
Aug. 9, 2020—Over the next two weeks, VUIT will host informational sessions on audio/video equipment installations in classrooms and teach faculty how to leverage the technology. In-person sessions for a limited number of participants as well as Zoom options are available.
