Chancellor, provost advocate for federal investments in science and education in Washington

Degrafinreid named associate vice chancellor for community relations
Mar. 29, 2019—Alfred Degrafinreid II, a seasoned public administrator and community leader, will join Vanderbilt University as associate vice chancellor for community relations with the Division of Government and Community Relations.
Public Affairs renamed Government and Community Relations to better reflect role and impact
Mar. 26, 2019—The Vanderbilt University Division of Public Affairs has been renamed the Division of Government and Community Relations to better describe its role in leading the university’s advocacy and partnership work with all branches of government and the Nashville and broader Middle Tennessee communities.
Statewide summit to focus on civic engagement on college campuses March 29
Mar. 25, 2019—The summit, a statewide gathering of university administrators, faculty and students, will focus on developing strategies for increased student engagement, civic learning and voter access on campuses throughout the state.
