Nov. 1, 2020—On Election Day, employees who are registered to vote may be absent from work for a reasonable paid period of time, not to exceed three hours, to exercise their right to vote.
University issues guidance related to 2020 election activities
Oct. 28, 2020—Vanderbilt fully supports robust civic engagement by its students, faculty and staff, and as Election Day approaches, encourages all eligible members of the university community to exercise their right to vote. Vanderbilt is making a number of resources available to assist the community in participating in the democratic process; however, university resources or one’s Vanderbilt affiliation may not be used to support or oppose any candidate for public office.
VandyRide to provide free shuttle to polling places on Election Day, Nov. 3
Oct. 26, 2020—VandyRide will provide a free shuttle to two voting locations, Murrell School and Eakin Elementary School, for students who wish to vote at their assigned polling location on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Vanderbilt recognizing 19th Amendment centennial throughout 2020; new website launched
Feb. 19, 2020—Throughout 2020, Vanderbilt University will mark the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees women’s constitutional right to vote. Vanderbilt will recognize the anniversary through a new website, educational programming, lectures, community events, historical exhibits, art displays and more.
