May. 6, 2019—A harmonica learning lab, nutrition and health, and the history of Fisk University are among the topics offered in June and July by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Vanderbilt.
Feb. 26, 2019—Pirates in the Atlantic world, religion in prison, and a workshop on jazz great Cole Porter are among the classes offered this spring by the Vanderbilt Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Dec. 21, 2018—Innovative thinking in the digital age, women in the civil rights movement and acting for opera are among the winter 2019 classes offered by Vanderbilt’s Osher Institute for Lifelong Learners.
Aug. 17, 2018—The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Vanderbilt will offer fall classes about life on Mars, the 2018 midterms, American gun culture, and an Oz Arts production on human connections to the environment.
May. 4, 2018—A survey of world art featuring Fisk collections, Nashville's diverse musical history, and cast-iron cooking are among summer classes offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Vanderbilt.
Mar. 23, 2018—Twenty-two violins—most most of which were played by Jewish musicians interned in concentration camps during the Holocaust—have arrived in Music City from Israel, where they will be heard once more as the Violins of Hope. Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music and the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries have planned several special events in honor of the initiative in March and April.
