Inaugural ’Dores in Dialogue Event Examines Racial Disparities
Feb. 19, 2021—A new Vanderbilt event series highlighting diverse voices on vital issues, ’Dores in Dialogue, kicked off on Dec. 2, 2020, with a conversation on eliminating racial disparities in public safety and policing. The event was presented by the Vanderbilt Alumni Association and the Association of Vanderbilt Black Alumni.
Writer in residence Alice Randall to discuss ‘Black Bottom Saints’ Feb. 4
Jan. 26, 2021—Author Alice Randall, writer in residence in African American and Diaspora Studies, will discuss her new book, "Black Bottom Saints," during a virtual event on Thursday, Feb. 4. The event, open to all faculty, staff and alumni, will begin at 5 p.m. CT and be conducted via Zoom.
‘A Conversation on Eliminating Racial Disparities in Public Safety’ set for Dec. 2

Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center to celebrate 35th anniversary during Reunion
Oct. 16, 2019—The Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center will celebrate its 35th anniversary during Reunion Weekend. The center, which was dedicated in April 1984, will mark the milestone with numerous events and programs.
