Oct. 31, 2019—Interim Chancellor and Provost Susan R. Wente and Vice Chancellor for Administration Eric Kopstain have appointed an advisory committee comprised of faculty and students to provide input on the development of plans, concepts and scenarios for Vanderbilt's Central Neighborhood. In addition, Wente and Kopstain will host a town hall on Tuesday, Nov. 12, to provide an update on Academic Affairs capital projects and planning.
Oct. 9, 2019—The second stop in a staff listening tour planned for the 2019-20 academic year will take place from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, in the Kissam Center, Room C210.
Sep. 30, 2019—Vanderbilt’s E. Bronson Ingram College has been awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, making it Vanderbilt University's 21st LEED-certified new construction or renovation project since 2007.

Aug. 28, 2019—As part of its ongoing sustainability efforts, Vanderbilt University announced today it will eliminate all single-use plastic water and soda bottles in its operations throughout dining facilities, markets and vending machines on campus, saving more than 430,000 plastic bottles per year and over 1.7 million bottles during a graduating class’s four-year experience.
Aug. 19, 2019—A new university department, Human Capital and Business Services, has been created to better serve employee support and development and the services that support all university divisions. The department, a merger of the functions previously supported by the former Human Resources and Business Services departments, will be led by Laura Nairon in the role of Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Capital and Business Services.

Jul. 18, 2019—Nashville firefighters deployed hoses, operated ladders, forced open doors and practiced search-and-rescue tactics when they took part in a unique training opportunity at Vanderbilt's 14-story Carmichael Tower 4 residence hall in June.
