Aug. 28, 2020—Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and Faculty Senate Chair Catherine McTamaney presented faculty awards for both spring and fall 2020 as part of the virtual faculty assembly held Aug. 27.
Apr. 5, 2019—Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos presented prestigious university awards to seven faculty members honored for their contributions and commitment to the university at the Spring Faculty Assembly.
Mar. 31, 2016—The first winner of a Vanderbilt award to recognize faculty who contribute to diversity went to Linda Sealy of the School of Medicine.

Jan. 18, 2016—Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos has announced the establishment of the Joseph A. Johnson, Jr. Distinguished Leadership Professor Award, to be given annually beginning at the 2016 Spring Faculty Assembly. The award will recognize a faculty member whose contributions have enhanced equity, diversity and inclusion in the university’s academic endeavors.
