Special Events

Campus dining frequently hosts special events, including collaborations with student organizations. We offer unique dining experiences and opportunities to promote student engagement. Our events range from chef demonstrations to holiday celebrations to farmers markets to our popular Underground Supper Club

Dietary Accommodations

Vanderbilt Campus Dining is committed to accommodating the dietary needs of our diverse student population. Vanderbilt’s dining halls feature dedicated allergen-friendly options. For example, E. Bronson Ingram dining hall is free of the top-9 allergens, The Kitchen at Kissam is gluten free and every dining hall except Rothschild dining hall is peanut-free.

Our dining staff work closely with students to ensure their dietary restrictions and preferences are met. We have a registered dietitian available to meet with students one on one to discuss anything related to their nutritional needs. Additionally, we offer an allergen meal program for students with life-threatening allergies, ensuring that they can safely dine on campus. Meals are prepared by allergen-trained cooks in a dedicated kitchen area at Kissam and are available for pickup at multiple locations.

Taste of Nashville

The Taste of Nashville program at Vanderbilt University allows students to use their meal plan funds, like Commodore Cash or Meal Money, at a variety of off-campus restaurants in Nashville within walking distance of campus. This program expands dining options beyond campus, offering students a chance to explore the city’s diverse culinary scene while still using their meal plan.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a central focus of Vanderbilt Campus Dining, with numerous initiatives aimed at reducing the university’s environmental impact. The dining program prioritizes local sourcing, supporting regional farmers and reducing the carbon footprint associated with food transportation. Composting and preventative food waste programs are in place to divert food waste from landfills.

One of the standout initiatives is the ReusePass, which encourages students to opt for reusable to-go containers instead of disposable ones.
