New Vanderbilt Staff Athletics League begins July 16

A group of people high five

At Vanderbilt, we are dedicated to cultivating a campus culture that prioritizes the holistic well-being of our staff. The Vanderbilt Staff Athletics League, or “Staff-Letics” for short, embodies this unwavering commitment. The new initiative goes beyond just promoting physical activity; it also fosters a deep sense of community, camaraderie and belonging among our Vanderbilt staff and colleagues.

“Our Staff Athletics Program isn’t just about sports; it’s about investing in your health, connecting with colleagues, and being part of a supportive community that celebrates belonging,” said Sydney Savion, vice chancellor for people, culture and belonging. Whether you’re striving for personal fitness goals, seeking stress relief or simply looking to have fun, there’s a place for you in this league.”

Purpose and Mission

Recognizing the profound impact of physical activity on physical and mental well-being, the program encourages and supports regular engagement in athletic pursuits year round. By providing opportunities for staff to participate in organized events and pursue individual fitness goals, the aim is to create a workplace culture that values and prioritizes the health and happiness of all employees. Through these shared experiences, staff can forge meaningful connections, support one another and develop a heightened sense of pride in being part of the Vanderbilt community.
