Dear Vanderbilt staff,
While every day we appreciate the contributions of the more than 4,000 of you who help support and grow the culture of our Vanderbilt community, in honor of National Employee Appreciation Day I want to offer a personal “thank you” and acknowledge your exceptional work and commitment to this institution.
I have been in the new role of vice chancellor for people, culture and belonging for just over a month, and I am grateful for the warm welcome you have shown me. I am making the rounds to visit as many departments and teams as I can, and I look forward to meeting and hearing from more of you in the coming months.
As Vanderbilt staff members, your voice is important. I want Vanderbilt to continue cultivating an environment where every voice is heard, every individual belongs and every contribution is valued.
The cookies that our Campus Dining chefs bake at Rand Hall are famous among our students and alumni. And so—in honor of National Employee Appreciation Day—enjoy one free cookie, compliments of People, Culture and Belonging. Simply show your staff ID at the register. The offer is good through the end of next week, or until the kitchen runs out every day.
Thank you again for being a valued member of our university community, and have a great National Employee Appreciation Day.
Sincerely,
Sydney Savion
Vice Chancellor for People, Culture and Belonging
