Come celebrate Beef Month in July and learn how lean red meat fits into one of the best- balanced eating plans, the Mediterranean diet. Karman Meyer, a registered dietitian with the Tennessee Beef Council, will prepare a Greek balance bowl featuring top sirloin steak, quinoa and other traditional ingredients and flavors of the Mediterranean region.
Meyer is a Nashville-based nutritionist and director of communications for the Tennessee Beef Industry Council. Teaching people easy ways to incorporate healthy changes into their lifestyles is her passion. Meyer is an experienced recipe developer, nutrition writer and public speaker, and has worked in the food industry for more than a decade.
Vandy Cooks is a monthly partnership between the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center and Health Plus to support healthy eating through cooking presentations that feature the many aspects of food preparation.
