The Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center and Health Plus will present “Latin American and Caribbean Cuisine” from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the VRWC demonstration kitchen.
Join members of the Latin American and Caribbean Student Association as they lead this month’s free cooking demonstration. Latin America is a magical place with a diverse culture that includes food and dance. The students will lead attendees in exploring how Latin American culture is reflected in its delicious traditional dishes. Attendees will receive samples of the prepared foods and their recipes.
The Latin American and Caribbean Student Association’s objective is to bring together people from the geographical and historical areas of Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean islands and South America, as well as those who are interested or passionate about these regions. The group seeks to build community and cultural awareness among Vanderbilt students and the Nashville community.
Vandy Cooks is provided monthly through a partnership between the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center and Health Plus. Its aim is to support healthy eating through cooking presentations featuring the many aspects of food preparation.
