Marissa Wertheimer and Marilyn Holmes are registered dietitians with a passion for sharing easy-to-prepare recipes for quick and healthy meals. This hands-on cooking class will allow you to enjoy the benefits of cooking without spending too much time in the kitchen. The menu will include: pesto salmon and veggie pouches, salad with homemade dressing, and a chocolate-laced dessert. All attendees will receive recipe cards and food samples.
Wertheimer is a registered dietitian and health educator for Health Plus. In this role, she provides wellness coaching along with health education to Vanderbilt faculty and staff. Holmes has more than 40 years of experience as a registered dietitian and in population health management. Currently, she is associate director of the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center.
Vandy Cooks is provided monthly through a partnership with the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center and Health Plus to support healthy eating through cooking presentations featuring the many aspects of food preparation.
