The banquet on March 18 honored and reflected on the remarkable achievements in research and creative expression from the more than 50 graduate programs and departments represented in the Graduate School. Graduate students are encouraged to apply for the Lacy-Fischer Interdisciplinary Research Grants by March 31. Grant funds are intended for creative advancement of collaborative research that makes an impact on the community and the world. Read More

This winter, third-year Ph.D. students completed a survey on student satisfaction. The data indicated students feel satisfied with their educational experience and are generally satisfied with all aspects of their graduate programs, and feel prepared to be successful in their academic journey as a graduate student.   Read More

A new program launching at the Alyne Queener Massey Law Library in January will enable Vanderbilt Law School students to borrow essential textbooks for the full length of a semester and help alleviate some of the costs associated with attending law school. The initiative, which uses donated textbooks, is a collaboration between the law library and the Vanderbilt Bar Association, the official student government organization of the Law School. Read More

New research from the Office of Biomedical Research Education and Training connects the dots between career goals during graduate school and career outcomes, articulates how careers of Ph.D. alumni evolve during the 10 years after graduation. Read More

For the first time since the interruption of COVID-19, the Center for Teaching will offer Open Classroom 2023. Between Sept. 11 through Oct. 6, classes taught across Vanderbilt’s many disciplines will open their classroom doors to faculty and graduate students to observe classroom management, pedagogical choices, teaching techniques and student engagement. The fellowship program is intended to serve as a pathway and source of mentorship for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars across the Southeastern Conference to prepare them for tenured faculty positions.  This cohort of Vanderbilt scholars will attend the upcoming 2023-24 SEC Emerging Scholars conference Oct. 1–4 at the University of Arkansas.   Read More
