The fencing surrounding the Garland Hall construction site will be temporarily expanded in order to conduct underground utility work for approximately two weeks. All current accessible sidewalks around Garland Hall will remain open. One ADA parking space located between the Divinity School and Garland Hall will be affected for the duration of this work.   Read More

Vanderbilt University Plant Operations, a division within Facilities, is being renamed to Vanderbilt University Maintenance and Operations to better encapsulate all the roles and duties of the organization.  Read More

On Saturday, Sept. 9, construction hours at the Highland Plant site at the corner of Children's Way and 25th Avenue South will be extended to midnight to complete a concrete pour. Disruptive noise will occur from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and workers will be on site until midnight. Read More

The outer southbound lane of traffic between Pierce Avenue and Children’s Way will be closed for the duration of this project; two-way traffic will still be ongoing. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to avoid the area and find alternative routes. Read More

Beginning Monday, July 17, 25th Avenue from Blakemore Avenue to Jess Neely Drive will close to vehicle traffic. The intersection at 25th Avenue and Jess Neely Drive will remain open. This closure is part of Vanderbilt University’s Central Utilities Initiative, which supports construction projects in the Frist Athletics Village. Garland Hall will be undergoing construction to improve the building's interior and enhance accessibility. To prepare for this project, an access road will be installed in three phases to minimize the impact to pedestrian traffic. The road is only for construction and emergency vehicles and will alter the pedestrian and bicycle routes in the area.   Read More

Lot 5 behind Wilson Hall will house a dumpster that is needed for a summer construction project from May 22 to June 12. The dumpster will be behind the lot’s accessible spots; these spots will remain open and usable.   Read More

Access to the garage at Village at Vanderbilt will be limited on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon while roof work is being done at the property. There will be no through traffic from the 21st Avenue entrance to the 18th Avenue exit.   Read More

Parking spaces in front of the Peabody Administration Building will be closed off 6 a.m.–2 p.m. for six  Mondays, beginning May 22, for a crane that will assist crews in roof work. The crane will be in the parking spots on the west side of the building. Please watch for work near the entrance.    Read More

The circle in front of the Wyatt Center will be closed, beginning May 17, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a crane to conduct work on the roof of the building. Crane work will take place May 17–18, June 5–6 and July 24.  Read More

Incoming traffic from 21st Avenue onto Medical Center Drive will be affected Saturday, May 20, 6 a.m.–5 p.m. by a crane installation. Medical Center Drive will be closed in both directions, and only emergency vehicles will be allowed access for the duration of the project. The turn lanes from 21st Avenue onto Medical Center Drive will be closed during this time.   Read More

The fifth and sixth floors of the Baker Garage will be inaccessible from April 24 to Aug. 1 for maintenance and repairs; signs will direct vehicles away from the closed areas. The other Baker Garage floors still will be accessible for parking.   Read More

There will be a crane and scaffolding on the west side of Medical Center North Round Wing beginning on Monday, April 10, for two months while the roof is being replaced. The crane will be on the lawn next to Stevenson Center Lane, and it will be fenced off for everyone’s safety.   Read More

Michael G. Perez, an accomplished university facilities operations and management leader for nearly 40 years—the last seven of which he’s served as associate vice chancellor and chief facilities officer at Vanderbilt—will retire from the university, effective December 2023. A national search is underway to identify his successor. Read More

The front entrance and sidewalk to One Magnolia Circle will be closed for 12 weeks beginning Monday, March 20, for upgrades to the sidewalk and front ramp.   Read More

The sidewalk on the south side of the Recreation and Wellness Center will be affected on March 22 from 7 a.m. to noon for crane work occurring on the roof of the building. Although exits from the building will not be obstructed, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to avoid the area. Read More
