Things to know:
- A section of Children’s Way between 24th Avenue and the Children’s Way entrance of the West Garage will be closed April 15–19 and May 20–23.
- The Blair School parking lot off 24th Avenue South between Blakemore Avenue and Children’s Way will continue to be closed.
- On weekdays, work will occur 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.—outside of peak traffic hours.
- During non-working hours, Children’s Way will be open to traffic.
- West Garage entrances will be affected; daily parking users should consider using Sony, Wesley or Terrace garages April 15–19 and May 20–23.
Pedestrians
For the duration of the project (April 15–19 and May 20–23)
- Pedestrians should use the south sidewalk along Children’s Way between 25th Avenue and 24th Avenue.
- Consult the pedestrian, bicycle maps for the latest routes in the area.
Vehicles
April 15–19 and May 20–23
- Children’s Way will be closed from 24th Avenue South to the entrance of the West Garage.
- The Children’s Way entrance to the West Garage will not be accessible from 24th Avenue between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on April 15–19 and May 20–23. Parkers should use the 24th Avenue entrance to the West Garage during this time. Daily parking participants coming from 24th Avenue South should use the east garage entrance, turning left immediately after entering to find the ramp going up.
- Work will take place daily between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Alternative Parking and Commute Options

Daily Parking:
- The university offers the daily parking program for eligible faculty, staff and graduate and professional student commutes.
- Locations: Terrace Place, Wesley Place and Sony garages. These garages include the ability to track available spaces so users can better plan commute times.
West Garage:
April 15–19 and May 20–23
- The West Garage entrance/exit on Children’s Way will be open; commuters should access from Blakemore Avenue to Natchez Trace to Children’s Way. Commuters will not be able to turn from 24th Avenue to Children’s Way to access the West Garage.
25th Avenue Garage:
- University-affiliated parkers should enter the garage from Highland Avenue.
- Medical center-affiliated parkers should enter the garage from 24th Avenue.
Alternate routes are established around the construction sites. If you are in the area, please watch for signs, follow the guidance of flaggers and security personnel, and plan for delays.
