Alumnus expands his chronicle of Freedom Riders with new portraits
Feb. 6, 2019—Lessons from the 1961 Freedom Rides and their relevance to today’s racial justice protests were discussed by alumnus and author Eric Etheridge and rider Rip Patten during a recent campus visit.
Vanderbilt Student Media Hall of Fame 2015 class named
Jul. 8, 2015—The Vanderbilt Student Media Hall of Fame will induct 2015 class members Roy Neel, Eric Etheridge, Georgia Stitt and Amy Chowdhry during Vanderbilt Reunion at the John Seigenthaler Center.
Alumnus publishes portraits of Freedom Riders
Nov. 6, 2013—After finding the original mugshots of the Freedom Riders, Eric Etheridge, BA’79, took on a unique project; he tracked down 328 of the original activists, photographing them again and displaying their current portraits alongside their mugshots. The portraits are collected in Etheridge’s book, “Breach of Peace.” Etheridge recently visited the Freedom Rides Museum in Montgomery, Alabama.
