School of Nursing recognizes faculty, staff, colleagues and honorary nurses
May. 31, 2018— Two longtime friends of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing were named honorary VUSN nurses, a leading researcher was recognized for service to faculty and students, and outstanding faculty and staff received school awards during the School of Nursing’s spring Faculty/Staff Assembly May 17.

Jan. 25, 2018—The Vanderbilt University School of Nursing recognized Nurse-Midwifery and Doctor of Nursing Practice students with pinning ceremonies that marked the completion of their programs in December.
Phillippi’s study of team-based maternity care bolstered by grant
Jan. 4, 2018—Julia Phillippi, PhD, CNM, has received a K08 Career Development Award from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Phillippi, a Vanderbilt University School of Nursing assistant professor and certified nurse-midwife, will use the three-year, $399,374 mentored award to conduct a randomized trial of an interdisciplinary team-based maternity care model and examine the preferences of patients and providers.
