25th Avenue South to close March 8–16 for final paving and striping

25th Avenue South will be closed from Garland Avenue to Children’s Way starting Saturday, March 8, to Sunday, March 16, to conduct final paving and painting on the roadway. Strategically scheduled during the university’s spring break, this work will reduce traffic congestion in the area.     

Vehicles:  

  • 25th Avenue South will experience intermittent single-lane closures as needed during the week of March 3. 
  • 25th Avenue South north of Garland Avenue to Children’s Way will be closed from March 8 to March 16.  
  • The temporary roadway in front of the Student Life Center will reopen to connect 25th Avenue South with Garland Avenue. 
  • Children’s Way will have single-lane closures on weekends, as needed. 
  • Traffic will utilize the previous detour path.
  • The 25th Avenue entrances to West Garage and 25th Avenue Garage will be closed from March 8 to March 16.  
  • Commuters can access West Garage from Children’s Way and 24th Avenue South.  
  • Commuters can access 25th Avenue Garage from 24th Avenue South and Highland Avenue. 

Pedestrians:  

  • All sidewalks in the area will remain open.   
  • Bicyclists and scooterists should dismount in the construction area. 

All pedestrian and vehicle routes are subject to change; updates will be shared in MyVU and on the Facilities Instagram and X accounts.
