Temporary traffic pattern changes along Children’s Way scheduled Nov. 18–20

The Vanderbilt Planning, Design and Construction Department is preparing to completely open Children’s Way between 24th Avenue South and 25th Avenue South after many months of construction related to the Central Utilities Initiative. To repave the area, there will be temporary lane closures Nov. 18–20: 

Vehicles 

  • The eastbound lane of Children’s Way between Natchez Trace and 24th Avenue South will be closed; westbound traffic will be maintained.  
  • The northbound lane of 25th Avenue South between Blakemore Avenue and Children’s Way will be closed; southbound traffic will be maintained.  

West Garage 

  • Children’s Way Entrance: 
  • Take Blakemore Avenue to 24th Avenue South to Children’s Way.  
  • Entrance will remain open during peak traffic hours, but will close periodically outside of those times.  
  • 24th Avenue South Entrance: 
  • Take Blakemore Avenue to 24th Avenue South.  
  • Entrance will remain open at all times.  

Pedestrians 

  • Sidewalks in the area will remain open.  
  • Bicyclists should dismount in the construction area.
