Register now for Nov. 14 Fall Staff Assembly

What you need to know: 

  • The official program begins at 3 p.m. in the Student Life Center Ballroom and will include remarks from Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and the presentation of the Fall 2024 Staff Awards. 
  • There will be a virtual viewing option. 
  • Come early, starting at 2 p.m., for free coffee, exciting giveaways at resource tables (including Vanderbilt football tickets) and a live demonstration of the new Digital Learning Marketplace from People, Culture and Belonging. 
  • Keep the celebration going at the reception after the program, starting at 4 p.m. 

All Vanderbilt University staff are invited to attend the Fall Staff Assembly, either at the Student Life Center or virtually on Thursday, Nov. 14. The event will celebrate university staff and their many contributions to the university’s mission.

3–4 p.m. — Official Program 

The official program, starting at 3 p.m. in the Student Life Center Ballroom, will feature remarks from Chancellor Daniel Diermeier, Vice Chancellor of People, Culture and Belonging Sydney Savion, University Staff Advisory Council President Sara Putnam and a student representative. The fall awards for staff excellence will be presented at the event.  

In-person seating will be on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. 

The program will be livestreamed on the Vanderbilt Employee Appreciation webpage and recorded for later viewing.   

Upon his arrival in 2020, Diermeier began the tradition of holding fall and spring assemblies to recognize and celebrate staff. The awards for individual and group staff recognition at the fall assembly are: Community Impact, Professional Excellence, Innovation Excellence, Research Excellence, Student Impact and Leadership Excellence.   

2–3 p.m. — Resource Tables and Giveaways 

Come early, starting at 2 p.m., for free coffee and exciting giveaways at resource tables. There will be a raffle for tickets to an upcoming Vanderbilt football game. Giveaways are available on a first come, first served basis. 

Just after 2 p.m., there will be a 15-minute live demonstration of the Digital Learning Marketplace in the ballroom, introduced by Savion. The marketplace offers personalized, professional development opportunities for all VU staff. Attendees will explore key features and learn how to navigate the platform. 

4–5 p.m. — Reception  

Join fellow staff members for continued celebrations at the reception after the program, with food and drink as well as special activities and photo opportunities.

Parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage, through the Highland Avenue entrance.
