Updated COVID-19 vaccine available for Vanderbilt University faculty, staff and postdocs

The Food and Drug Administration recently approved an updated mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine provides better protection against current strains of COVID-19 that are circulating as we transition into the fall/winter virus season.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone six months and older who has not received a COVID-19 vaccine in the past two months receive the updated vaccine.

Where can I get the updated COVID-19 vaccine?

The updated COVID-19 vaccine is available to Vanderbilt University faculty and staff through the Occupational Health Clinic. Employees can walk in to OHC, which is on the sixth floor of the Medical Arts Building, to receive a vaccine. Appointments are not required, and clinic hours are posted online. Occupational Health will bill your insurance.  VU insurance covers 100 percent of the cost of the vaccination.

Employees may also receive the updated vaccine by scheduling with their Vanderbilt Health primary care physician through My Health at Vanderbilt, at Vanderbilt Health Walk-In Clinics and at retail pharmacies across the region. There is a vaccine locator at vaccines.gov.
