Nominations and applications open for Vanderbilt Leadership Enrichment through Sept. 25

Applications are now open for the fifth class of the Vanderbilt Leadership Enrichment program. VLE is designed to develop key leadership skills and competencies for staff members who serve in a leadership role or have an interest in pursuing one within the university.  

*You DO NOT have to have direct reports to be eligible to participate in VLE.  

This university-wide leadership development program consists of 11 sessions, offered from October through May. VLE aims to help participants enhance their leadership self-awareness, develop leadership skills and increase their institutional knowledge.  

The program includes: 

  • An opening session 
  • Five educational sessions on topics such as coaching and effective feedback, effective communication, inclusive leadership and self-awareness 
  • One roundtable discussion with university leaders 
  • Three small group coaching sessions 
  • A graduation ceremony 

VLE sessions will be on select Wednesdays from October 2023 through May 2024. The sessions will be 1:30–3:30 p.m. on campus. Participants are expected to attend each session.  

VLE is a cohort-based leadership development program; up to 30 participants will be accepted.  

Applications and nominations:  

  • Staff members interested in VLE should apply online here by Monday, Sept. 25 
  • If you’d like to nominate a staff member for VLE, please submit the VLE Nomination Form here by Sept. 15 
  • Nominations may be submitted by team members, peers, direct supervisors and departmental/team/unit/division leadership 

Staff members selected for the program will be notified by Oct. 1.  

Please note that we will typically not select more than one person from the same office and will not select a supervisor and direct report as members of the same cohort.
