What you need to know: COVID-19 quarantine and isolation

As part of Vanderbilt’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, students who test positive for the coronavirus or are a close contact will be notified by Vanderbilt’s Public Health Central Command Center regarding quarantine or isolation protocols.

In the above video, G.L. Black, associate provost and dean of students, discusses:

  • first steps a student should take after receiving notification;
  • why quarantine and isolation are still necessary;
  • ordering meals during quarantine/isolation; and
  • additional ways to get mental wellness help.

“Students have been putting forth such a strong effort to comply with protocols and take care of themselves and each other, and that’s really what our community of care at Vanderbilt is all about,” Black said. “When we’ve worked together to follow safety protocols in a measured way, we have been able to open for more in-person interactions and activities so that we really can foster community and have a meaningful student experience.”
