A memorial service to honor the life of H. Carl Haywood, professor of psychology, emeritus, and an early director of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 19, at Christ Church Cathedral, 900 Broadway, in Nashville.
The service will begin at 1:30 p.m. CT with a reception following.
Haywood, a pioneer in research on developmental disabilities, died Oct. 12, 2020, in Nashville. He was 89.

The family requests that only COVID-vaccinated people attend the memorial in person. The service will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend.
