The Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center’s Life Phase Series will present “The Good, the Fad and the Ugly” on Tuesday, March 26, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Rec Center.
If you’ve followed a fad diet, you are not alone. A fad diet is a stylish weight-loss plan that promises dramatic results. Typically, these diets don’t result in long-term weight loss, and some can actually be harmful to your health. Marilyn Holmes and Marissa Wertheimer will offer the latest scientific evidence about select fad diets and will provide tools and resources to guide you in making informed food choices.
Wertheimer is a registered dietitian and health educator for Health Plus. In this role, she provides wellness coaching along with health education to Vanderbilt faculty and staff.
Holmes has more than 40 years of experience as a registered dietitian and in population health management. She currently serves as associate director of the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center.
This event is open to the Vanderbilt community.
