New VU Identity system is live; replaces AccessVU

After months of hard work and preparation, Vanderbilt University has implemented a new identity system called VU Identity. The tool replaces the previous system, AccessVU, which is now strictly a VUMC toolset. The VU Identity go-live marks the official end of the identity blackout.

Starting today, all essential Vanderbilt University identity functionality is available in the new VU Identity system. Users can now use this tool to update VUnetIDs, ePasswords, and options related to their Vanderbilt University account.

To access the new system, find the landing page here and locate the link that best fits your needs. The majority of campus users use the identity system to reset expiring or forgotten passwords; to reset your password, go here.

While the majority of the new system’s functionality is available today, some tools have not been implemented at this time. “Release 2.0” tools are expected later this summer, and the new VU Identity system should be fully functional before the end of the calendar year.
