Many older adults with dementia do not eat and drink a sufficient amount to maintain a healthy weight. Simple strategies are effective but time-consuming for care providers.
Dr. Sandra Simmons, associate professor of medicine in the Division of Geriatrics at Vanderbilt University, has conducted multiple studies in the long-term care setting focused on improving food and fluid intake among persons with dementia. Join us June 21, when she’ll explain why this aspect of care can be challenging and will describe specific strategies care providers can use to promote nutritional health for their loved ones.
