As part of its Life Phase Series, the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center presents “Flower Gardening: Tips and Trends” Feb. 11 from noon to 1 p.m. in 415 Light Hall.
Join horticultural specialist Laura Barker of Vanderbilt Plant Operations/Grounds Maintenance for this session. You’ll learn how to start flower gardens, learn about the best flower choices for Tennessee gardens, hear about the latest trends in flower gardening, and receive growing recommendations. Make the upcoming planting season the best ever using tips from an expert on the many aspects of successful flower gardening!
Barker has worked with Vanderbilt’s grounds maintenance department nearly five years. She earned her degree in plant and soil science from the University of Illinois and has been working in the horticulture industry more than 15 years. Her interests include reading, cooking and vertical gardening.
