February is American Heart Month. Join Chef George Moran and the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center’s Marilyn Holmes to learn about heart-healthy food choices, try tasty samples, and take home a recipe.

The talk and tasting will take place at the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center Exhibition Cooking Studio on Friday, Feb. 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Moran has more than 20 years of culinary experience and has been an executive chef for 18 years. Growing up in the Northeast, he was influenced by the Irish and Italian cuisines that surrounded him. Moran is as passionate about serving people as he is about serving high-quality foods.

Moran is a winner of the “Heroes of Everyday Life” award for his work in fighting hunger in Nashville and has conducted missionary work in Southeast Asia. He is the executive chef at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
