Vanderbilt employees now have better, easier ways to get help from Human Resources.
The department has launched a new customer service approach, comprising the Employee Service Center and service delivery teams, to support faculty and staff with all of their HR needs.
For general HR questions, employees can turn to the Employee Service Center, whose mission is to serve Vanderbilt’s diverse and dynamic community by providing customer service excellence. It can help with concerns such as, “How do I apply for a job?” “Where can I find more information on the health plan?” and “What are my retirement plan options?”
The Employee Service Center’s phones, email and in-person HR Express locations are staffed by a friendly, well-trained team that includes some of Vanderbilt’s most loyal and knowledgeable employees. One member has worked at Vanderbilt for more than 40 years. The team includes: Kim Boyce, Dru Bratton-Newsom, Emilie Cherry, Andrea Collins, Kenny Garner, Carolyn Heaps and Sandra Otey.

For more complex matters, employees should contact their service delivery team. Each university and medical center department now has a designated human resources consultant who serves as a single point of contact for coaching and support on issues such as performance management, compensation and employee relations.
“We wanted to make it easy for employees to get the help they need,” said Traci Nordberg, chief human resources officer. “The Employee Service Center and service delivery teams are one of many ways that HR is working to improve the employee experience by providing support and simplifying processes.”
