Non-union University Central employees will transition to flexPTO in July, joining the 14,500 Vanderbilt University Medical Center employees who moved to flexPTO in January. This program promotes work-life balance and simplifies the way we manage time off.

The flexPTO (flexible paid time off) program allows you to use your time off in ways that suit you best. It includes a centralized bank of time that combines your vacation, personal, holiday and sick days. You can use this time for planned time off, including vacations and holidays, as well as for brief illnesses. FlexPTO also includes enhanced short-term disability and paid parental leave.

FlexPTO will take effect July 1, 2014, for exempt staff. FlexPTO will take effect with the June 22–July 5 pay period for non-exempt staff. However, July 4, 2014, will still be recorded as a holiday (not part of flexPTO).
