Vanderbilt Weight Workshop offers free orientation

The Vanderbilt Dayani Center for Health and Wellness, in conjunction with the Health Plus faculty and staff health and wellness program, offers the Vanderbilt Weight Workshop, a holistic approach for adults to promote healthy nutrition, motivation, physical activity, empowerment and well-being.

The next session will be offered on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 4.

Two free orientation sessions are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 28 and 30 at the Dayani Center.

The program includes:

  • Weekly interactive classes;
  • Individualized workout programs with a personal trainer;
  • Five months’ use of the Dayani Center’s exercise facility, walking track and indoor pool;
  • Access to exercise classes, including yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, body sculpt, dance, Pilates, group cycling and water aerobics.

Weight Workshop instructors are Colin Armstrong, clinical health psychologist and certified health and wellness coach; Angel Bachuss, certified personal trainer; and Jennifer Moore, registered dietitian.

The program is $545 for Vanderbilt employees and their immediate family members and $695 for all other participants.

In addition to the discount, full-time Vanderbilt employees who complete the program may qualify for reimbursement of up to $142.50 of their fee courtesy of Health Plus.

Payroll deduction over 12 months ($45.41 per month) is available for Vanderbilt employees.
