National Walking Day is April 3

Open Enrollment, your opportunity to elect benefits for 2013, is scheduled for Oct. 17-31.
Vanderbilt will observe National Walking Day April 3. (Vanderbilt University)

On Wednesday, April 3, adults nationwide will make the pledge to walk more and be heart-healthy at work. Vanderbilt will observe National Walking Day from noon to 12:45 p.m. with a 20-minute group walk starting at Medical Center North and ending at Library Lawn.

Vanderbilt administrators and Health Plus staff will lead the walk. Afterward, light, heart-healthy snacks will be served at a brief celebration of Vanderbilt’s commitment to a culture of wellness. Challenge 1 prize winners can pick up their prizes at this event.

Can’t join the group walk? Take 30 minutes out of your day to get up and walk by yourself or with a co-worker. View Vanderbilt’s campus walking trails to get started.

The Start! Challenge 1 is still in progress. Record your activities in the Start! Activity Tracker. Accumulate a total of at least 200,000 steps by March 31 to receive a prize.
