The Vanderbilt Dayani Center for Health and Wellness, in conjunction with the Health Plus faculty and staff health and wellness program, is offering a holistic approach to promoting nutrition, motivation, physical activity, empowerment and well-being through the Vanderbilt Weight Workshop.

The workshop includes:

  • A free orientation session with no obligation to enroll;

  • An individualized workout program with a personal trainer;
  • Five months’ use of the Dayani Center’s exercise facility, walking track and indoor pool;
  • Access to group exercise classes, including yoga, tai chi, Zumba, body sculpt, dance, Pilates, group cycling and water aerobics.

The next workshop will meet Tuesdays at noon beginning Aug. 14. Free orientation sessions (required for participation in the workshop) will be held at the Dayani Center July 31 and Aug. 7 at noon.

Vanderbilt employees can receive a discount and partial reimbursement that reflects a saving of almost 50 percent off the full workshop price. Payroll deduction over 12 months also is available to Vanderbilt employees.

The workshop is $495 for Vanderbilt employees and adult members of their immediate family, and $695 for others.

In addition to this $200 discount, full-time Vanderbilt employees who complete the program may qualify for reimbursement of up to $142.50 of their fee, courtesy of Health Plus. This brings the final cost of the program for full-time employees to $352.50. Payroll deduction over 12 months ($41.25 per month) is available to Vanderbilt employees.
