Stress, Worry and Optimism class starts July 14

How often do you find yourself worrying and stewing about situations that are completely outside of your control? How often do you beat yourself up or jump to negative conclusions?

Often our tendency to worry about the future and dwell on the past can generate a great deal of unnecessary stress and interfere with our ability to make the most of the present moment. At the same time, our thoughts can sabotage our motivation for making healthy changes, undermine our confidence, contribute to unhealthy eating habits and harm our health.

The Vanderbilt Dayani Center for Health and Wellness a 6-week workshop for adults focused on managing stress and developing a more optimistic attitude (or to at least stop being their own worst critic). The workshop incorporates principles from cognitive therapy as well as the emerging field of positive psychology.

Interested participants may also receive a two-week pass to the Dayani Center to explore the physical and emotional benefits of exercise, water aerobics, Yoga and Tai Chi.
