Ethics and equity in the age of AI
In April, Vanderbilt Peabody College of education and human development hosted the panel discussion “Ethical and Equity Considerations in the Age of AI” as part of the Peabody Dean’s Diversity Lecture series. The session explored societal, ethical and moral questions regarding AI’s growing role in higher education, with special consideration of social justice, bias, equity and discrimination concerns. Vanderbilt to launch Banned Books Initiative with reception, panel discussion
Recent policies and legislation across the U.S. have made the reading and teaching of banned books even more difficult in K–12 classrooms and libraries. Panel discussion to focus on women of color and civic engagement Sept. 18
The legacies of Ida B. Wells and J. Frankie Pierce and their fight for suffrage for Black women will be the topic of a panel discussion on Friday, Sept. 18. The online event will explore how Wells’ and Pierce’s life’s work contributed to the struggle for women’s suffrage and how their legacies inform Black women and civic engagement in our communities today.
