The Vanderbilt experience is woven into the lives of Allyson Maske, BS’92, and Jim Maske, BE’93, MBA’99, who first met as undergraduates. Between them, they have attended four of Vanderbilt’s schools and colleges, and their son, J.D., is a member of the Class of 2028 at Peabody College. Two of his most recent projects are The Guest House in Natchez, Mississippi, an antebellum mansion built by enslaved people that is now a 16-room bed and breakfast, and The Redline Venice, a former apartment building on Venice Beach now converted into a hotel. After a car accident in 2022 forever altered Robby Barbieri's life, he refused to let anyone take his future. In fact, he worked to change countless lives for the better in his adopted home state by advocating for legislation that allows thousands of Tennesseans with disabilities to maintain careers and care for families. Lt. Col. Zachary Dadisman was recently welcomed as Vanderbilt’s first U.S. Army War College Fellow, where he’ll spend a year conducting research and outreach while auditing courses to sharpen his leadership skills and expand his outlook as a strategic and innovative thinker. Read More

Bryan Deaner, MBA’93, has made a multi-layered gift to the Owen Graduate School of Management that includes a bequest to ultimately support the Deaner Creativity Scholarship for students there. His gift also incorporates current-use funding for scholarships at Owen through a matching gift program with his employer for additional support.   Read More

Two popular undergraduate minors have found new homes on campus. Beginning in fall 2024, the Hoogland Undergraduate Business Program will be housed at the Owen Graduate School of Management, while data science will become the 10th minor offered by the School of Engineering.   Read More

W.G. “Tres” Scheibe and his son, Nate, own Scheibe Design, a high-end furniture studio based in Franklin, Tennessee, where they make handcrafted pieces showcasing modernist design and gorgeous woods.  Read More
