Proposals being accepted for International Education Week 2024; submissions open through Oct. 23
International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of Education and State celebrating international education, will be Nov. 18–22. Each year, campuses across the U.S. mark IEW through programming and events that highlight the importance of international education and exchange. The event type is flexible, but each event should be related to international education, international/cultural exchange, and/or living in a global environment. The Humphrey Fellowship Program at Vanderbilt brings accomplished mid–career educational leaders from developing nations and emerging democracies to the United States for an academic year for leadership and professional development as well as fostering mutual exchange. English Language Center uses virtual reality to support international students
The Vanderbilt English Language Center recently launched “Let’s Keep Talking: Immersive Small Talk to Support Networking Skills," a pilot project created to offer guidance and experience in “professional small talk” for students and scholars who use English as an additional language.
